Dr. Pauline Haugen, DC

Haugen_Jan25_PST01Dr. Pauline Haugen opened Higher Health Chiropractic  Bellevue, WA, in 2009, after seven years of practice in Colorado. Dr. Haugen was a competitive figure skater until the age of 18 and then discovered she had a talent for running.

She was first exposed to the benefits of chiropractic care as a young athlete. She ran for the Canadian National Team and then earned a full scholarship to The University of Michigan where she became an NCAA Division 1 athlete in track and cross-country.  As a nationally competitive runner, Dr. Pauline Haugen suffered a number of sports injuries.  After years of frustration it was chiropractic care that got her running again and stopped the repetitive injury cycle.

The concept of diagnosing the underlying cause of the injury versus simply treating the symptoms inspired Dr. Haugen to become a chiropractor.  Dr. Pauline Haugen is also a BASI certified Pilates instructor.  She specializes in injury and sports rehabilitation Pilates. She also specializes in Functional Nutrition, weight loss as well as properly fueling your body for an active lifestyle or athletic performance.

I have been working at Higher Health Chiropractic for 4 years (and counting!) The staff, the doctors, and the patients have become a big part of my life. I absolutely love what I do and I am certain this is very evident with my work.  I am certified in deep tissue massage, prenatal massage sports massage, injury rehabilitation and hot stone massage.  I believe it is important to customize massage to each individual’s needs.  I am a fitness fanatic, I love yoga, and I love the Pacific Northwest lifestyle.  I am a big advocate of educating my patients on the benefits of finding the underlying cause of their pain through chiropractic care while they are seeing me for massage therapy.  Dr. Pauline Haugen, DC, and I work hand in hand when diagnosing the underlying structural cause of your pain through a proper physical, neurologic and orthopedic exam.  I truly feel this is how we maintain our reputation of delivering superb service in the medical community and amongst our patients!

I am very excited to have the privilege of working with Dr. Pauline Haugen and the team at Higher Health. I believe chiropractic and massage therapies are wonderfully complementary and each enhances the effect of the other.

I received my education in Denver, Colorado at The Colorado School of Healing Arts, where I earned my degree in massage therapy as well as my certification in cranial sacral therapy and reflexology.
As a therapist it is my mission to treat every individual according to their specific needs. Every treatment is customized to meet those needs by integrating various modalities into each session. I am committed to working together with my clients to promote their education and participation in this powerful healing process.
